Dr. Lopez has performed over 5,000 bariatric surgery procedures since 2005 and has received numerous awards for his work in bariatric surgery. Dr. Lopez grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico and received his Medical degree from the University of Guadalajara. His residency in general surgery was completed at Western National Medical Center. IMSS. He then began fellowship training at Cook County Hospital Chicago Il. He has an extremely successful practice in Tijuana, Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara Mexico and practices all the major bariatric surgeries with a special emphasis on Gastric Sleeve and Gastric Bypass (RNY) surgeries. He is a respected surgeon who has been published in articles on bariatric and laparoscopic surgery in many surgical journals and magazines.

Undergraduate at the University Center for Health Sciences and graduated University of Guadalajara Medical School.

Has a fellowship at the Western National Medical Center.
